TIINY HOST ALTERNATIVE · FREE TO START

The Tiiny Host alternative that makes your site faster, not just live.

Same drag-and-drop upload. Same ZIP. But Fylo.Host serves it from 330+ edge cities, converts your images, subsets your fonts and delays your scripts — so the site you share is the fast version, and it costs less to keep a custom domain on it.

Why people look for an alternative

Tiiny Host gets your file online.
Then it stops.

Drag-and-drop hosting solved the “how do I put this online” problem years ago. The problems people hit next are speed, storage and price.

Your files ship exactly as you uploaded them

A 2 MB hero PNG, a full Google Font, an un-minified stylesheet and a YouTube embed all reach the visitor untouched. On a mid-range phone on 4G that is a slow page, and Google scores it that way.

Fylo converts, subsets, minifies and defers from the Performance panel. One toggle each.

The free plan fits one small page

One site and about 3 MB is enough for a resume or a landing page with no photos. A portfolio, a clinic site or anything exported from WordPress is over the limit before you have finished zipping it.

Fylo’s free plan is 10 MB, and Starter is 500 MB for $6.99 a month.

Every millisecond still travels to one place

On the customer sites we measured before they moved, the first byte took about 310 ms to arrive. That is time the visitor spends looking at a blank screen before your page even starts to load.

Fylo holds your HTML in an edge cache in 330+ cities. Median first byte on live sites is ~100 ms.

Fylo.Host figures are from our pricing page; speed figures are measured on live customer sites. Tiiny Host prices are from its help center, updated 1 September 2026; plan limits are as published on tiiny.host at the same time and may have changed. “Not listed” means we could not find the feature on Tiiny Host’s public pages. The difference after upload

Six things Fylo does to your ZIP that a plain file host cannot

Each one is a toggle in the Performance panel of your dashboard. Turn it on, the site rebuilds, the cache refreshes. Turn it off and the original comes back.

Image conversion

PNG and JPEG become WebP with a responsive srcset, so a phone downloads a phone-sized image. Below-the-fold images lazy-load.

a 1.8 MB PNG→ ~180 KB WebP

Font subsetting

Only the characters your pages actually use are kept, and the font is self-hosted on your domain instead of fetched from Google.

full family→ the glyphs on your pages

Minification

Whitespace and comments stripped from HTML and CSS. Never touches how the page renders.

on by default→ nothing to configure

Delay JavaScript

Scripts wait until the browser is idle or the visitor moves. Anything that must run immediately goes on an exclusion list.

blocking scripts→ first paint comes first

YouTube facades

An embed is replaced with a thumbnail and a play button. The real player loads only when someone clicks.

~1 MB per embed→ one thumbnail

Edge cache

Your HTML sits in Cloudflare’s edge cache in 330+ cities. Every visitor gets it from the city nearest them.

one origin→ ~100 ms median TTFB

Image conversion is metered by plan: 10 images a month on Free, 100 on Starter, 1,000 on Pro, 5,000 on Business. Everything else is unmetered.

Switching

Move from Tiiny Host in about ten minutes

Nothing inside your ZIP has to change. The only new step is pointing your domain, and you can do that without any downtime.

STEP 01

Get your ZIP

Use the ZIP you uploaded to Tiiny Host, or zip your site folder again. The only rule is the same one Tiiny Host has: index.html at the top level.

my-site.zip
   index.html
   about.html
   css/  js/  images/
  no changes needed
STEP 02

Drop it on Fylo.Host

Choose a subdomain, drop the ZIP, and the site is live on the edge in seconds. Then open the Performance panel and switch on the optimizations you want.

Drop your site hereZIP · HTML · HTM
STEP 03

Point your domain

On Starter or above, add your domain in the dashboard and update one CNAME at your registrar. Keep Tiiny Host live until DNS has propagated, then cancel it.

# at your registrar
CNAME @ fylo.host
CNAME www fylo.host
# SSL is issued automatically

A fair comparison

Which one should you actually use?

They overlap on the basics and diverge on purpose. Tiiny Host is a file-sharing tool that also hosts sites. Fylo.Host is a website host that happens to be as easy as file sharing.

Stay on Tiiny Host if you mostly…

  • Share PDFs, resumes or presentations as links. Fylo.Host hosts websites, not documents.
  • Need password-protected client previews. Fylo.Host does not offer password gates.
  • Run a tiny public page with more than 1,000 visits a month and want to stay on a free plan.

Move to Fylo.Host if you…

  • Host a real website with images, fonts or video that people find through Google.
  • Care about Lighthouse and Core Web Vitals but do not want to run a build step or compress images by hand.
  • Have visitors outside the US and Europe. Edge caching matters most where the origin is far away.
  • Want a custom domain, 500 MB and no host branding for under $7 a month.

FAQ

Questions people ask before switching

Yes for static sites. Both take a ZIP or a single HTML file, give you a live link in seconds and offer custom domains on paid plans. The difference is what happens after upload: Fylo.Host serves the site from Cloudflare’s edge in 330+ cities and can convert images, subset fonts, minify and delay scripts. Tiiny Host also hosts PDFs and offers password-protected pages, which Fylo.Host does not.
Yes. Any ZIP with index.html at its top level works as-is. Nested folders, images, fonts and scripts are all supported. If Tiiny Host accepted it, Fylo.Host will too. ZIPs over 8 MB upload in parallel chunks, so large sites are fine on paid plans.
Both have a free plan. Fylo.Host’s cheapest paid plan with a custom domain is Starter at $6.99 a month, or $4.66 a month billed yearly. Tiiny Host’s cheapest paid plan, Tiny, is $9 a month or $5 a month billed yearly, according to its help center in September 2026. Both offer a 7-day money-back guarantee. Full pricing
On sites that moved to Fylo.Host, we measured an average time to first byte of about 310 ms on Tiiny Host before the move and about 100 ms on Fylo.Host after. Your numbers depend on where your visitors are; the edge cache and the optimization toggles are what make the difference. Run your own site through the speed checker first.
Yes. Custom domains are available from the Starter plan. Point a CNAME at fylo.host and SSL, the www variant and renewals are handled for you. To avoid downtime, keep your Tiiny Host site live until the DNS change has propagated, then cancel it.
If you mainly share PDFs, resumes or password-protected client previews, Tiiny Host is built for that and Fylo.Host is not. If you host a public website, especially one with images, fonts and video embeds, Fylo.Host is the better fit.
